Our value-added progress at A Level is unrivalled in South West London, placing us in the top 1% of all schools in England and our students attain on average one full grade above their expected target at GCSE. The Kneller Hall Pathway

As a through-school from age 4 to 18, our own pupils move from Junior to Senior School without ever needing to sit an 11+ examination. This is not the easy option, but a more sophisticated one. Because we have a 360-degree view of every student across the whole school, the move from Junior to Senior is carefully, individually planned by staff in close partnership with families. The pathway is smooth, the transition is happy, and the curriculum in the years that would otherwise be dominated by exam preparation is richer and more expansive as a result.

The Dukes Education Family

That same joined-up thinking extends across the wider Dukes Education family. Pupils at any Dukes Education prep school — not only our own Junior School — can apply for a Kneller-assured place, giving families the same early clarity and the same exam-free route into Year 7. It isn’t automatic, and every place remains subject to suitability and availability, but a child’s progress and potential are considered over years, not decided in a single sitting.

Open to All

Kneller Hall is equally home to families joining us for the first time. New applicants follow our standard Year 7 admissions process — assessments, a closer look at the whole child, and a decision made with real care — so that every pupil, whichever door they come through, arrives ready to thrive.

The same thinking carries through beyond Year 7. Pupils already with us move into GCSEs and Sixth Form as a natural next step, while new pupils are warmly welcomed at Year 9 and Year 12 too — each assessed thoughtfully, so every stage of the Kneller Hall journey is set up for success.

A Leading Curriculum

Our curriculum is genuinely innovative and it begins the moment a child joins us at age 4. In the Junior School, a strong STEAM strand and a rich, imaginative approach to every subject build the foundations for confident, independent thinking long before secondary school begins.

In Years 7–9, our Konnections programme cuts through subject silos to reveal connections that are genuinely valuable for intellectual development. In Years 10 and 11, the focus sharpens on real-world skills alongside GCSE rigour.

Throughout the whole school, from Reception to Year 13, the emphasis is on active doing rather than passive listening, because what I hear, I forget; what I see, I remember; but what I do, I know.

Every Child is Seen

We are often asked: “Could my child, who is quite shy, just get lost at school?” At Kneller Hall, the answer is no. There is a latticework of care here that makes it impossible. Every member of staff, academic and non-academic, knows every student, meaning issues are spotted early, usually before they become problems. No one falls through the net and no one is left on the sidelines.

A Setting Unlike Any Other

When the Senior School moves to the historic Kneller Hall estate in September 2027, it will become the largest independent school campus in South West London: thirty acres of extraordinary character, thoughtfully designed to support teaching and learning at every level. A space to think, to play, to thrive.

From September 2028, the Junior School will move into the glorious riverside surrounds of Pope’s Villa, Twickenham — a beautiful and historic setting of its own, giving our youngest pupils a home perfectly suited to the start of their educational journey. For now, the Junior School continues to thrive in its current home in leafy Richmond, with well-equipped facilities and all the warmth of a familiar setting.
